The height of hypocrisy "Farmers in 2013" Vs "Farmers in 2020"
Parliament passed the Farmer Act 2020 for the benefit and the welfare of farmers but some officials holding a key position in the National Institute are intentionally
supporting farmer’s protests for their personal benefit.
He is about to retire from his post and it seems planning a new career. He
is motivating students and the scientific community to support farmer’s protest
against Farmer Act 2020.
The Government of UP allotted around 50 acres of land for free to NIPER, Raebareli in 2013 for the construction of a permanent campus in Raebareli. The land acquisition was done by taking several pieces of land from socially and economically backward farmers on the pre-context that they will be provided direct or indirect employment in the NIPER, Raebareli for their livelihood. Since then, 8 years have been passed but neither the construction of the permanent campus of NIPER, Raebareli has started nor the farmers have been given back their land for farming which was the basis of their livelihood. This has hampered the life of around 20 to 25 socially and economically backward families of farmers. The allotted 50-acre land is lying as such and only false promises has been made to farmers and their life and livelihood have been hampered as it is a single source of their earning. This is the height of hypocrisy that one way he supports farmers against Farmer Act and other way destroying the life of several farmer families.
This land has been unused for
more than 8 years. Farmers are not allowed to do any agricultural
work on that land. The highly-paid officer in
NIPER-R is about to retire after completing their 4 and 1/2 year
tenure. During his tenure, he and the department official enjoyed
their lives, but what about the families of farmers whose livelihoods
depend on this land. Their life becomes hell, but these so-called
intellectuals do not have time to think about it. In general, if the land is not used for more than 5
years, it should be returned to the farmers.
The big question now is why this land was not returned to the farmers for the betterment of their lives as NIPER-R already has a 10-year agreement to run NIPER in a private building.
Crucially, this is not the only incident that he disliked the Act passed by Parliament. He has no respect for the Acts passed by Parliament. For example, he acted against the NIPER Act which established NIPER, Rae Bareli in Rae Bareli, but he transferred NIPER, Rae Bareli to Lucknow near his home without the consent of Parliament for his personal benefit. He denied the gratuity benefits of NIPER employees against the Gratuity Act, while Hon'ble lower courts have already rendered judgment in favor of the employees. He also didn't give maternity benefits to a woman employee of his institute as per the Maternity Benefit Act.
As he is due to retire and the government didn’t extend his tenure as per his wish so he is against the
Government of India. Due to his personal
grudge, he likes the social media against Farmer Act and against Government.
